Amid continued uncertainty over the economic outlook, S-OIL Corporation pledged to overcome the crisis through ¡°management by walking around (MBWA).¡±
On Jan. 23, S-OIL¡¯s CEO Ahmed A. Subaey and some 300 officers and employees climbed Mt. Cheonggye on the occasion of the New Year and pledged commitment to the company¡¯s sustainable growth. Shouting the slogan ¡°Happiness to Customers, Hope to Society¡± together at the top of the mountain, they said in unison that they would increase corporate value based on mutual trust and cooperation in order to make S-OIL a more respected global company.
CEO Subaey said, ¡°This year, our investments will be concentrated on the Onsan Refinery expansion project, which is our core business project to create a new growth engine for the future.¡± And he asked the officers and employees to make a concerted effort to expand the petrochemical business at the right time, diversify a business portfolio, and thus build a foundation for future profit generation. The Onsan Refinery expansion project is a large-scale project to construct a high value-added petrochemical plant with a total investment of 1.4 trillion won.
The S-OIL CEO added, ¡°This year is the year of the tiger. Let¡¯s work hard with the spirit of the tiger and praise and encourage each other, and then make this year the one that we achieve the goal of profitable, sustainable growth.¡±
Meanwhile, about 30 new employees who joined S-OIL this year also climbed Mt. Cheonggye, having useful conversations with their seniors.
