S-OIL holds charity event ¡°Sharing Ddeokguk with S-OIL¡±

- S-OIL CEO Subaey, accompanied by current and former officers and employees, offers ddeokguk (rice cake soup) to homeless people.
- They also deliver a New Year gift package to about 600 households living in single-room occupancy housing in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year¡¯s Day, S-OIL Corporation held a charity event ¡°Sharing Ddeokguk with S-OIL¡± at Gwangya Church on Feb. 3, together with the Civic Movement Center for Love, a non-profit organization.

At the church¡¯s free meal center for the homeless, located in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, S-OIL CEO Ahmed A. Subaey and some 60 members of S-OIL Public Service Corps made ddeokguk (rice cake soup) themselves and offered it to about 500 homeless people and residents of single-room occupancy housing.

The refiner¡¯s former officers also participated in the charity event. In addition, the CEO and the public service corps members delivered a New Year gift package, which contained rice cake, beef, fruits, instant noodles, etc., to 600 or so households living in single-room occupancy housing in the Yeongdeungpo area.

¡°In Korea, all family members gather on the Lunar New Year¡¯s Day to exchange warm New Year greetings and spend time together. Like this tradition, our current and former officers and employees got together to give a little help to people in need,¡± said S-OIL CEO Subaey. ¡°Today¡¯s event is especially meaningful because our former officers, who contributed a lot to what we are, participated in the event.¡±

In an effort to live up to its management philosophy ¡°sharing,¡± S-OIL has provided a variety of voluntary services for the underprivileged, through its public service corps that has branches across the nation. Each year, the company makes and offers ddeokguk and songpyeon, half moon-shaped rice cake, to underprivileged people, holds diverse events for low-income elderly citizens, and invites children with incurable illnesses to its ¡°Hope-sharing Camp.¡±
