S-OIL offers medical expenses to 30 injured firefighters

● S-OIL offers medical expenses to 30 firefighters who sustained injuries during firefighting and other emergency rescue operations.
● S-OIL has encouraged firefighters and helped their life balanced through the Hero Firefighters Support Program for seven years.

S-OIL (CEO: Nasser Al-Mahasher; Korean name: Na Se-il) donated 60 million won as incentive to firefighters who sustained injuries during firefighting and emergency rescue operations. The donation ceremony was held at Yangcheon Fire Station in Seoul on Oct. 25. At the ceremony, the refiner offered 2 million won each to 30 firefighters including Fire Captain Kyung Min-ho (45), who was injured due to a fall during firefighting in July, and wished rapid recovery to them.

“We hope that our donation will be of a little help and consolation to firefighters who are suffering financial difficulties after sustaining injuries due to explosions, falls, exposure to flames, or electric shocks while protecting citizens from dangerous sites,” said an S-OIL official. “S-OIL will continuously expand this Hero Firefighters Support Program to try to boost the morale of firefighters, who protect society, and stabilize firefighter families’ living conditions.”

S-OIL has implemented the Hero Firefighters Support Program for seven consecutive years since 2006 along with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare to support firefighters who sacrifice themselves in silence in every corner of society. As part of such efforts, the refiner donated 30 million won to the bereaved family of deceased firefighters, awarded exemplary firefighters at the end of the year and annually offered a total of 300 mil. Won in scholarships to about 100 children of fallen firefighters to support their education. Also, the company held “rest camp for Firefighter couples” to offer them a chance to take rest.
