● S-OIL is to select 40 newly-admitted undergraduate majoring in science or engineering students from orphanages to grant scholarships until graduation. 


S-OIL(CEO Nasser Al-Mahasher) newly launched scholarship program to support students from orphanage. S-OIL held the ‘S-OIL Dream Scholarship’ Donation Ceremony at Seondeokwon, an orphanage in Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul on July 19 to grant 2.5 million won each to 40 college students from orphanages who are majoring in science or engineering.    


S-OIL established a scholarship program to help students dedicate themselves to learning under stability and prepare to stand on their own feet as full-fledged members of society. Under the program, the Company selected 40 college students majoring in science or engineering such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Engineering from among those orphanages and grant scholarships to them until their graduation. S-OIL will give incentives to the students who graduate from colleges with great results when they apply to company recruitment.


In addition, on that day, S-OIL donated 10 million won to assist the Seondeok Chorus, the only female orphanage chorus in Korea.


“S-OIL would help students who experienced family dissolution when they were young to overcome their scars and to grow as a proud member of the society with this Dream scholarship,” Said S-OIL CEO Al-Mahasher. “S-OIL will root passionately for college students gathered here, who will play a leading role with their own expert knowledge and achieve goals.”


The refiner has run scholarship programs systematically in many fields to help financially-struggling young students to dedicate themselves fully to learning under financial stability. It has provided scholarships to children of fallen firefighters and maritime police officers as well as children of cargo truck drivers who suffered traffic accidents. In addition, it has provided customized learning aids for disabled youth.
