S-OIL (CEO Anwar A. Al-Hejazi) held the ‘2025 Hero Citizen Award Ceremony’ at its Head Office in Gongdeok-dong, Mapo, Seoul, together with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare (Chairman Kim Seong-yee) on 24th. In the ceremony, the Company awarded plaques and 140 million Won to 25 hero citizens of the year.
S-OIL selected 25 hero citizens of the year who displayed righteous spirit of sacrifice and bravery to save the lives of others. In October last year, Kim Do-yeop rescued a driver who was in danger due to a vehicle fire on Gwangju?Daegu Expressway. He sustained second-degree burns to his face during the process. Other hero awardees include Yoo Cha-yeol who confronted a driver who was under the influence and unlicensed, Jung Hee-han who initially extinguished the vehicle fire, and Lee Si-young who swiftly transported a medical emergency patient from a bus. Other heroes Park Seung-il and Yoon Nam-ho saved the victim by performing CPR, and Park Hyun-woo, Park Jong-gwan, and Kim Tae-ho saved lives from the water. All nine heroes each received Hero Citizens Award along with a prize of 10 mil. Won. In addition, 16 individuals belong to five hero citizen groups were presented award plaque with prize money.
