S-OIL said on Aug. 13 that it donated 327 million won to its “Maritime Police Officer Support Program” in partnership with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare. The donation ceremony was held at the Korea Coast Guard headquarters in Incheon.
The funds will be used to cover medical expenses for Coast Guard officers injured in the line of duty, provide scholarships for children of officers killed on duty, and support awards honoring exemplary maritime police officers.
S-OIL has continued supporting maritime police officers since signing an agreement for the program in 2013. The company has donated a cumulative 2.8 billion won over 14 years through 2026, including funding for various support programs and annual
awards for heroic maritime police officers.
“Maritime police officers who risk their lives to rescue people even under difficult conditions at sea are the true heroes of our society,” S-OIL President Ryu Yul said. “We will continue to stand by the Korea Coast
Guard as a steadfast supporter.”
